About A-Team Auto Care in Iowa City, IA

Family A-Team Auto Care

At A-Team Auto Care, we are constantly trying to learn, to improve, to keep our costs down, and to provide the best service possible.

ASE Technicians

A-Team Auto Care employs ASE-certified technicians in Iowa City. An ASE certification signifies a technician’s commitment to excellence. To become certified, auto repair mechanics must pass difficult national tests on the most current methods and models, so they must constantly be learning new technologies as they develop. Technicians must also re-test every five years to keep their certification.

ASE Master Technicians

A-Team Auto Care employs ASE-certified Master Technicians. The Master Technician certification is the highest level of certification in the auto repair industry, indicating our Iowa City mechanics are recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence to be extremely competent on every mechanical and electrical component and system.

Our A-Team Auto Care ASE-certified Master Technicians must keep current certifications in eight areas: Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, Suspension and Steering, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Automatic Transmissions. Because our mechanics maintain their certifications, A-Team Auto Care is a solid, trustworthy place to bring your car for auto repair.

Community Service

We have a strong desire to give back to the community. We believe in shopping locally so the money we spend stays in our community. We believe helping those in our community who are less fortunate because it is the right thing to do. We hope our work will inspire others to focus on improving our community by helping those in need.

Some of the contributions we’ve made:

  • Donated 5% of sales for the month of April ($1786.91) to the Crisis Center of Johnson County.
  • Donated parts and labor to people in need from the Domestic Violence Intervention Program
  • We were able to help 3 homeless veterans with discounted parts and labor to help them get back on their feet and have safe transportation.

  • We participated in Wheels to Prosper, a nationwide car giveaway that awards a car to a deserving individual in the community who is in need.
  • In October, we held a Car Care Clinic in honor of the Car Care Council’s National Car Care Month. The Car Care Clinic explained the various systems in a car and taught how to check fluids, change the oil, change a spare tire, and check the pressure.

  • We helped Iowa City Boy Scout Troop 212 with the maintenance of their bus.
  • We contributed gift certificates to the Horace Mann Elementary Parent Teacher Organization fund raiser silent auction.
  • We provided discount service to Four Oaks.
  • We provided discount service to Shelter House.
